The issue opens on a “desperately lonely day in the life of Bruce Wayne… a day always dreaded… always expected… but never quite prepared for…” In other words, Dick is leaving for college and the world is ending.
We begin with Bruce sitting and moping in Dick’s room for a while, getting weepy about shoes.
He pulls himself together to say goodbye to Dick but from there on out it is all about change and how they must catch up with the times.
Bruce has fascinating revelations.
He contemplates the state of his wardrobe and crime.
And he eventually decides to close up Wayne Manor and he and Alfred drive off in a fancy car and move into a penthouse in the city.
